Idee Design Competition 2000

For this competition, removing the barrier from our brain, we're looking forward to see furniture designed based on truly free idea.

Application period
Period of accepting entry forms from the 1st of July to the 1st of September. Deadline to submit works the 1st of September

Qualifications
Any individual or group may apply the competition. In addition, a single individual   or group can submit as many works as desired.

Judging procedures
First preliminary judging
-Submitted works will be judged by IDEE Selection Committee and 10 works will be selected.
-Competition results will be noticed through e-mail to all contestants.
Final judging
-Manufacture prototypes of selected works from the first preliminary judging.
-Prototype production expense is covered by IDEE Co., Ltd.  If the contestants plan to produce their own prototype, IDEE will cover the expenses up to 300,000 yen.
Prototypes will be exhibited at IDEE SHOP during the period of Tokyo Designers Week. IDEE Awards will goes to the work with the most votes by IDEE staff, already established designers, and customers visiting to IDEE SHOP during an exhibition.

Prizes
IDEE Award x 1
-Production of awarded work for retail purposes with royalty contract with IDEE Co., Ltd.
-Air fare to Tokyo or transportation expense to Tokyo (one representative of the party).
-Exhibiting awarded work at any exhibition held within / outside country.

How to Apply
Fill in the entry form for IDEE Design Competition 2000 at www.idee.co.jp and submit it. Your entry number will be e-mailed to you after submitting the form. The entry number will be used for any following information.

Submitted works
Any presentation will be accepted excepted models: rendering, drawing, illustration, or other. We're looking forward for a presentation with a full of originality and individuality.
A3 (297mm x 420mm) up to 3 copies
On the back of each boards, name, address, and your contact number should be mentioned.
On the front, address your entry number. Mention any information in detail needed for manufacturing as an experiment.

Advice Service
Advice Service will be held during the application period to support contestants' work process. We try to explain any questions you have regarding IDEE Awards: how to take the theme of competition, any design-related questions, technical questions, and other questions. Announcement
Ones who pass the first preliminary judging will be announced at IDEE's website on the 18th of September. We e-mail directly to those who pass preliminary judging.
Final judging will be held at IDEE SHOP on the last day of Tokyo Designers Week, or the 15th of October.  IDEE Award goes to the work with the most votes. The results will be announced on our website the next day, October 16

Rights privileges
All rights to own the awarded work belongs to the producer of the work. In terms of the exhibitions, the sponsor of the event holds the right to all works.

Production for retail purposes
Awarded work will be retailed making royalty contract with IDEE Co., Ltd.
(IDEE Co., Ltd. holds the first priority to produce all awarded works till the 31st of March, 2001.)
