How to reach the Congress Site
The Congress Site is located within walking distance of the S. Maria Novella Railway Station. It is also well communicated by public transportation (bus nr. 14 from the Railway Station). Car parking facilities at the Congress site are limited.

Language
The official languages of the Congress are Italian, English and Spanish

Speakers' Briefing
Speakers and chairpersons will meet in the brifing room 15 minutes prior to their session to be brieefed and to get acquainted with audio-visual aids, etc and resolve any problems. The use of slide projection is strongly encouraged to support your hight quality oral presentation (single or double projection, standard slides).

Poster presentation
Scientific Posters will be display for the duration of the Congress. Authors are requested to set up their displays on the allocated boards on Sunday 17 september, or as early as possible in the morning on Monday 18 September and to take them down on Friday 22 September, before the Closing Ceremony.
The panel at your disposal will have a maximum display area misuring 1.40 m wide x 1.80 m high. The board will be numbered according to the number of the relative technical session and to the sequential number of the partecipant.

The scientific poster should illustrate your contribution chiefly by means of photographs, tables and diagrams.
At the beginning of the relative technical session, authors are requested to be present at their posters at the time indicated in the programme. This will give all Congress delegates the opportunity for questions and discussion which is the major objectives of this event

Awards
During FIRENZE2000 Congress awards will be given to a three national and/or international designers that have became distinct in the Architectural Restoration area.
There will also be five awards given to young designers who work in the thematic area:
Heritage and Tourism; Reinvention of the Architectural and Urban Spaces; Restoration and Consolidation:Technologies and Procedures who have presented their work to a six composed member Committee before the 30 of June, 2000.
The five winning works will be displayed for the duration of the Congress in the Scientific Posters area. The authors are requested to set up their poster as the other poster session authors.
All the awards will be announced during the Closing Ceremony Friday, 22 September, h: 6.45 p.m.) that will be held in the Main Building of the University of Florence (Piazza S. Marco nr 4)

A CD-ROMs copy of the Book Proceedings will be given to all partecipants during their registration. Requests for printed copies sholud be sent to:
